Nicky Valentine strode by the shimmering water, her chestnut-colored curls shining in the moonlight. Her eyes were focused on the sky, trying to pick out what few stars were visible in between the gaps of clouds. Not that there were many stars in Pobres Almas, the fifth largest city in the country. It was a rather cloudy Sunday night, even more so than usual. Not a single star poked out, and even the moon was invisible. Slightly frustrated, Nicky sighed and gave up her search.
